Here it has been over a month since I last wrote in this journal. I must try to do better because I forget a lot of the important things that happen. Merrill Brimhall (assistant principle at the High School) passed away after a heart operation, also Marion Gallagher (another teacher at the high school) fell off from a roof he was working on and never got over it. Mike Ramsey (from Snowflake but an old time resident) died of a heart attack. It seems like I have left someone out who has passed away but maybe it will come to me later. Brent Garvin (Loye used to pitch against in softball) died with heart trouble.
Rikki survived her operation just fine. It was determined she has a low-grade malignant tumor. It is supposed to be slow-growing. The doctor suggests radium treatments to kill the tumor. These are so hard on her that I think Mark and Liza are going to try an alternative first. It is such a worry but we are all praying for her.
Loyelin's baby has been in and out of the hospital a couple of times. Once with pneumonia. He seems to have very low resistance to colds and congestion.
Mom has felt better until just here lately and she complains of her stomach hurting her. We have had some beautiful spring weather. But according to the T.V. that will all change as we get a series of storms that will blow across our state. We really had some much needed moisture on Tuesday but I'm afraid that some of the fruit that was just about to blossom got froze.
After Rikki's operation I went to Mesa and spent 2 days down there. I got to go eat lunch and visit with my dear friend and former neighbor, Shirley Knight. I really enjoyed catching up on all the news of her family. And I got to visit and play with my grandchildren Jacob and Lindsey they are such cute kids. And Shelley was so thoughtful and good, I really enjoyed my visit to the valley.
Josh spent about 3 weeks home working with Roger but he has gone back to the valley now.
I've got to get ready for work, it's just about 6:30 am and I have to be there at 7.
