This is an odd time of year to begin a journal, but I guess it's better now than never.  Today is a typical northern Arizona spring day.  The wind s blowing and the clouds are gathering so that tomorrow we will likely have snow.  Even so, kids and grown-ups are out practicing baseball for the coming season.

Loye, Roger, Kent, Keith, George and Charlie are over to the L.D.S. Ball-Park laying a block retaining wall.  This summer there will be a baseball tournament here in Taylor, Stake for the St. Johns region.

Loye and I were going to go to Payson and watch our "little pride and joy (Josh)" play baseball.  But I guess our "little pride and joy" didn't want us to go, cause he took the keys to the car with him.

I thought I would die laughing today, at work, while Maybelle Caskey tried to show us how their primary Chorister taught songs to the Senior primary in 4th ward.  In order to learn the tune she had them say cheep for each note as they went up and down the scale.  It was one of Maybelle's funnier stories, and she is certainly an entertainer  It's certainly a quiet day when she isn't working.

Loye finally came home so we ate supper about 8:00 p.m.

Josh got home about 9:00 p.m.  They beat Payson 6-5.  Said he put the key under the seat but we didn't find it.

This was the 1st day for Lydia Hatch to open Cafe since death of Trapper on April 9th.
